VeganCheckr for iPhone and iPad
VeganCheckr's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected": the developer does not collect any data from the app.
- No account. You never sign up, so there is no profile to store.
- Scan history stays on your device. Saved products, avoidance alerts and history are stored locally and available offline.
- Camera access is used only to scan barcodes and ingredient labels. Images are processed for recognition and are not collected by the developer.
- Location access (optional) is used only to show nearby places on the Vegan Map. You can use the rest of the app without granting it.
- Product lookups query product databases to fetch ingredient information for the barcode you scanned. These requests are needed to give you a verdict.
App Store purchases
Optional Premium upgrades are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details.
VeganCheckr for Android
VeganCheckr: Vegan Scanner (com.akhandaf.vegancheckr) is published under the AIPGEN developer account and maintained by Marwan Akhandaf. For privacy questions or deletion requests, email [email protected] with the subject “VeganCheckr Android privacy”.
Information on your device
You do not need to create a VeganCheckr account. Saved products, scan results, ingredient avoidance preferences and app settings are stored on your device. You can remove saved history in the app or clear the app's storage through Android settings. Android may include app data in device backups and device transfers according to your system settings.
Camera permission is used for barcode and ingredient-label recognition. You can also select a photo with Android's photo picker. Recognition uses Google ML Kit on your device. VeganCheckr does not upload the photos or camera frames to its developer or to the product database. Recognized text may be stored locally with a result you save.
Product searches and images
Barcode lookups and product-name searches are sent to Open Food Facts over HTTPS to retrieve product records. Product images are downloaded from their hosting services. These services receive the requested barcode, search term or image address, together with technical network information such as your IP address. Recognition diagnostics
Google ML Kit processes technical information such as app and SDK versions, device model and operating-system information, per-installation identifiers, recognition event types, timing, image format and resolution, and error codes for diagnostics and usage analytics. Premium purchases and paywalls
Google Play processes Android purchases and manages subscription billing. VeganCheckr does not receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier, purchase history and purchase tokens, product information and entitlement status to validate purchases, restore access and provide purchase analytics. Superwall delivers the Premium paywall and processes anonymous identifiers, app and device attributes, subscription status, and paywall and purchase-interaction events to present the paywall and measure its performance. Superwall also derives approximate location, such as country, region or city, from the IP address for analytics. This is distinct from GPS location: the Android app does not request precise-location permission. SDK identifiers and technical analytics are collected automatically; the app does not provide an opt-out control for that collection. See https://superwall.com/legal/privacy-policy.
The app does not display third-party advertisements and does not request the Android advertising ID. The developer does not sell your personal data.
External actions and support
Sharing a product opens Android's share interface. You choose the destination and whether to send the information. Submitting a product report sends the product name and barcode (when available), your selected issue and expected status, the current result, your note, app version and RevenueCat app-user identifier to the developer through Cloudflare and a private Telegram bot. The identifier helps investigate the report; it is not your payment information. Reports are sent only when you press Submit. Report text is not stored in the report service database; a request identifier, payload hash, delivery status and timestamp are retained for seven days to prevent duplicate submissions. Report messages remain in the developer’s Telegram inbox for review; contact the support address to request deletion. Opening nearby vegan places launches your maps app, whose permissions and privacy policy govern any location processing. VeganCheckr does not request location permission itself.
Report bug and Give feedback open an editable draft in your email app, addressed to [email protected] with the subject “Vegancheckr Android”. The draft contains the report type, RevenueCat app-user ID, phone manufacturer and model, app version and build, and Android version. You can edit the draft and decide whether to send it. If you send it, the developer receives your email address, message and included technical details to investigate and answer your request.
Retention and deletion
Local history remains until you remove it or clear the app's storage. Cloud purchase and paywall records may persist after uninstalling because they support restoration and subscription management. Contact the support address to request access, correction or deletion of records associated with your use. The developer may need purchase details or an app-user identifier to locate the relevant record. Do not send payment-card information. Records needed for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention or outstanding transaction purposes may need to be retained.
Deleting app data or requesting data deletion does not cancel an active Google Play subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play.
Security and changes
The app's network requests use HTTPS. No system can guarantee absolute security. This policy will be updated when the app's data practices change, with the effective date shown on the published page.
This website
vegancheckr.com is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no advertising or third-party analytics scripts. It is served through Cloudflare, which may process standard technical request logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver and secure the site, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
